Actively supporting the objectives of the UK Harbour Masters’ Association
The 2025 update to the Ports & Marine Facilities Safety Code (PMSC25) reinforces existing safety standards, strengthening the requirement for all marine facilities—including terminals, marinas, and smaller harbours—to adopt a risk-based, proportional approach to safety management.
This one-day PMSC familiarisation course is aimed at individuals and/or small Organisations wishing to learn more about the Port Marine and Facilities Safety Code 2025 and their responsibilities under the Code. This is your first step towards Compliance, hosted by Brightlingsea Harbour, led by MTL Maritime Director Captain Jonathan Warren.
The Course will cover:
PMSC25 Basics;
the roles of the Duty Holder and Designated Person;
Organisations’ responsibilities with respect to Code Compliance; and
Basic Marine Knowledge.
This one-day Course is the first day of the MTL Maritime Three Day Harbour Master Foundation Course, and provides good opportunities for networking and learning about progression to the other courses and services available from MTL Maritime.
A light lunch and refreshments will be included in the fee.
The Course is offered subject to our Standard Terms and Conditions, and we require payment in full by BACS transfer before your Course commences.
